Dear Physicians,

Our Annual Health Fair held on Sunday, May 2 2010 at the South Florida Hindu Temple was a great success. It started promptly at 9 am, with a turnout of approximately 400-500 people with continuous attendance until 3 pm. A very special thank you to our physicians, who were available for basic consultation on a variety of specialties such as Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Hematology and Oncology, Cardiology, Geriatrics, Ophthalmology, Allergy Immunology, Physical Medicine, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Nephrology, Orthodontics, Endocrinology, Radiation Oncology, Orthopedics, and Pulmonology.

North Broward Medical Center provided blood pressure, carotid ultra-sound, blood glucose and cholesterol screening. Nova Southeastern University provided blood glucose and blood cholesterol screening. There were some medical exhibitors such as Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, Warner Chilcott (Actonel), Novo Nordisk (Insulin), Comprehensive Home Health Care, Teva Respiratory Specialty and Florida Telecommunication, who provided information on their products to physicians and the general public. Citibank also had a booth to advertise their products and services

Thank you to our auxiliary volunteers, youth volunteers, and South Florida Hindu Temple for their participation in making the Health Fair a success. And we are also very thankful and appreciative to our exhibitors for their generous support in helping our community to stay healthy and informed.

We would like to thank the Health Fair team - Dr. Rakesh Mittal, Dr. Narendra Maheshwari and Rita Mittal - for their hard work in making the fair a success. There were many others who devoted their time and efforts to this project. Special thanks goes to Dr. Ravin Mehta, Dr. Narendra Upadhyaya, Smeeta Patel and Rama Nathan who provided much needed support. We thank the membership team, Priya Sharma, Charu Jain and Kirti Jain for running the membership booth. Lastly, special thanks go to Sanjay Gupta for sending last minute e-mails to IRCC members; Asgar for last minute printing; Ashok Vijay and Sunil Agarwal for helping with the preparations.
